Swift's passion for music was evident when she was a young age. From children's plays to singing in front of thousands of people, Swift made rapid progress. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game at age 11. She was already writing songs. In the following year, she started playing the guitar. Swift had taken her inspirations from Shania Twain's music and that of her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of music from the country genre, created her original songs to reflect her feelings of alienation. Swift relocated from Pennsylvania along with her parents in Tennessee to Hendersonville when she turned 13 to devote her time in contacting the country music labels.
